We build managed automation services for plumbers, electricians, HVAC techs, and other trade businesses — the folks who do the real work and shouldn't have to miss jobs because they were busy doing it.
The idea is simple: the job isn't the whole job. Answering phones, writing estimates, chasing invoices, scheduling work, reminding past customers you exist — that's a second full-time job hiding inside every trade business. Most owners do it after hours, between jobs, or not at all, and it costs them real money.
Onyx Operations takes that second job off your plate. Not with software you have to learn, but as a managed service — we set everything up, we run it, and you just do the work you're good at.
Who's behind it
David Jensen is a process engineer by trade — Lean, Six Sigma, project management. He's spent his career finding the waste in how work gets done and getting rid of it.
He also has family and close friends in the trades, so he's heard the other side of it firsthand: the missed calls, the estimates that go out late, the invoices nobody has time to chase. The whole second job hiding inside the first one.
And he's been deep in business automation — personally and professionally — long enough to know what actually works versus what's hype.
Onyx Operations is where those three things meet: process thinking, real trade-world pain points, and automation that's finally good enough to handle the office half of the job.
Why "Onyx"?
Onyx is our founder's Australian Shepherd — a blue merle who runs the household with quiet competence. The company is named after her: steady, reliable, and always on duty. That's the standard we hold the service to.
